What we collect
Nothing. MechSpec contains no analytics, tracking, advertising, or crash-reporting components. It requests no system permissions (no location, contacts, camera, photos, or microphone) and requires no account.
Does the app connect to the internet
No. All standard-parts data ships inside the app. It makes no network requests at any time and works identically in airplane mode.
What is stored on your device
The following is saved locally through the standard iOS preferences mechanism
(NSUserDefaults) and never leaves your device:
- Interface language, light/dark theme, unit system (metric/imperial), standards preference
- Parts you have marked as favorites
- Parts you have recently viewed (up to 12)
- Text notes you have attached to parts
None of it is uploaded, synced, or shared. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Third parties
The app bundles no third-party SDKs, ad networks, or analytics services. It is built with the Flutter framework, which likewise collects no user data.
Children's privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will revise this page and update the date at the top. Because the app has no network access, policy changes cannot affect data already stored on your device.
