DXF2CNC — Free CAD to CNC G-code Converter

Turn your DXF drawings into ready-to-run G-code for milling, turning, wire EDM and gear cutting — right in your browser, in 11 languages.

DXF2CNC is a free, open CAD-to-CNC toolkit. Import a DXF file and generate machine-ready G-code for four machining domains, then simulate the toolpath before you cut.

Four modules

2D Milling (DXF2MILL)

Import DXF contours and produce milling G-code with contour, pocket, engraving, drilling, rest-machining and facing. Choose from 7 plunge strategies, cutter compensation, adaptive feed and one-click multi-operation planning across 17 post-processors.

CNC Turning

Generate lathe programs with 13 cycles — G71/G72/G73 roughing + G70 finish, G74/G83 drilling, G84 tapping, G75 grooving, G92/G76 threading, cut-off and Y-axis mill-turn — for 10 controller families with tool-nose-radius compensation.

Wire EDM (WEDM)

Slice DXF profiles into rough and multiple skim passes, output as ISO G-code or 3B format, with taper and 4-axis UV modes and automatic or picked start holes.

Open Wire EDM →

Gear Hobbing

Create involute gears, worms, bevel, splines, internal, racks and cycloidal pin wheels; compute gear pairs, use templates, nest parts and preview the generation in 3D.

FAQ

Is DXF2CNC free, and do I need to install anything?

The web version runs entirely in your browser and is free — no registration, no install. A Windows desktop application (DXF2CNC.exe) is also available.

Which CNC controllers are supported?

Milling covers 17 post-processors (FANUC, Haas, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mitsubishi, GSK, GRBL, Mach3 and more); turning supports 10 controller families. Wire EDM exports ISO G-code and 3B; gear hobbing emits standard hobbing cycles.

Is the generated G-code safe to run on my machine?

Always simulate the toolpath and verify on your machine before cutting. DXF2CNC includes toolpath simulation, collision and over-travel checks, but you remain responsible for final verification.
